What is a P.A.R.T. analysis?
It is a "thumb print" of your anilox roller.
It is the actual ink testing swatch which is measured on your anilox roll that is then printed on a serialized document with your roller's specifications. Hence the name Production Assurance Roll Test analysis.

How does it work?
You, the customer, specify the requested engraving which is fed into our state of the art computer system. The computer then calculates the correct pulse length of laser beam penetration into the ceramic's surface.

thumbprint A test burn (laser engraving) is then run and scoped for accuracy. Once approved by the laser technician, the engraving will ensue.

When engraving and superfinishing is completed, the roll's surface is coated with a measured amount of ink. The ink is then metered across the engraving with a doctor blade.

Each anilox roller's finished engraving will be accompanied to the customer with CTS Industries' exclusive P.A.R.T. analysis sheet.
A strip of film is pressed on top of the ink filled cells and is transferred. The film is then scanned into CTS Industries' P.A.R.T. computer system. We tell the computer how much ink we used and what screen count and volume you the customer requested. The P.A.R.T. system then calculates the volume down to the 10th power. The laser technician then ID's (serializes) your anilox roll. All the information you have given us along with the anilox roller's "ID" tag and ink swatch — now called Thumb Print are printed out on a document to be stored with the anilox roller and with CTS Industries' records.

Can previous engravings be duplicated?
If there is a P.A.R.T. analysis with your anilox roll, rest assured your consistency will remain the same, time and again.

Does every engraver have one?
No. This system was developed exclusively for CTS Industries' use.
